Happy Holiday Season and Reflecting on the Year

As we approach the end of another remarkable year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve embarked upon together as a community committed to positive change in the Washington DC area. None of our work would be possible without the generosity of our donors and supporters, our partners, our Board, and our committed and talented team. The holiday season offers a poignant moment to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and partnership with the Washington Housing Conservancy. In a year filled with challenges and triumphs, your support has propelled us forward, allowing us to make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.

WHC is committed to preventing displacement and stabilizing rents so that the area’s teachers, first responders, restaurant servers and other workers can live in amenity-rich neighborhoods and build a bright future for themselves and their families. We are proud that our apartment communities make it possible for people who might otherwise be priced out to live and stay in neighborhoods where there are high-performing schools, healthy food, and are convenient for transportation and employment centers. And through creating housing stability, we’re reducing the crushing weight of rent burden and giving our residents the financial room to save assets.

During the holiday season, many experience feelings of loneliness and isolation. Unfortunately, over the last few years, these feelings are on the increase and year-round. At WHC, our affordable housing mission includes an integrated social impact approach that fosters inclusion, a deeper connection to community, cultural affirmation, and a collective stewardship of and responsibility for our home environments. We want our residents not only to have a home but to feel at home.

The challenges of displacement, social isolation, and unequal opportunity will be with us in 2024, but with supporters like you, we are confident WHC will continue to close the housing affordability and economic mobility gap in the Washington DC area.

Please consider supporting WHC and our mission today with a financial contribution.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a New Year filled with hope, happiness, and fulfillment. We look forward to another year of collaboration and shared success.
